If you've picked up a copy of our printed magazine, you’ll have spotted some fantastic photos of Burnley. Unless credited otherwise, these were all taken by Burnley ViewPoint core creative team member Nick Seddon, a local photographer passionate about capturing everything our Town Has to offer. We’ve asked Nick a few questions to find out a bit more about the Man behind the lens.

Name: Nick Seddon

Tell us a bit about yourself, where are you from?

I’m from Liverpool, but I came to Burnley for work in 2018 and ended up staying.

What Camera do you use?

I use a Sony A7iii with a nifty fifty at the moment!

How did you get into photography?
I got into photography through my mum! She won some money on the lottery and treated herself to a Nikon D60 which I still have. I just started experimenting with it and kind of taught myself how cameras work!

What inspires your photography?
Nothing, and everything, to be honest! I tend just to snap as and when I see something I like. It’s rare that my shots are planned out, and I usually end up not liking them when they are!

What would be your dream photo shoot?
Probably shooting for someone like National Geographic, getting a cover shot for their magazine would be the dream. Shooting the Northern lights or some wildlife.

What do you hope sharing your photos makes people feel?
I hope they make people look at the mundane things in life a bit differently. To see the beauty in the simplest of things.

Where can people find out more about you?
People can find my work on my Instagram @nicholasius, and I also run a fairly popular silly account called @youvebeenhamstered, where I photoshop hamsters into movie scenes and whatnot.
